Welcome to the Underground test drive meme! This is where you can try out the AU version of your character, start some potential CR and get a feel for the world of the game. Choose your character's species, read up on the available factions and you're ready to go. Put your character's name in your subject line when you post, tag out, and have fun!

Note to current players: Activity in this meme counts as game canon! So you can use it for activity check. If you end up playing anything that you can't or don't want to use as game canon, it's fine to ignore it. (In that case you shouldn't submit it for activity check.)

Here are some prompts to inspire you:

1) STRANGE TOWN. So this is London. You're in the underbelly of the city, the shadow of the Underground where the vampires and the ghosts and other strange creatures come out to play. Still, at least the Tube staff take it all in stride.

2) NO ONE CARES. You're out on the streets and you're in trouble. Maybe you don't have a bed for the night, maybe you're injured and in need of aid, maybe you just missed your train. But that's the thing about big cities: people walk past. They don't listen. They don't help. Will some kind soul take note of your plight?

3) DON'T BE WEIRD. You may not be quite an ordinary human, but that doesn't mean you can't do your shopping or order a coffee, right? No accidental magic, no letting your fangs show or whatever supernatural appendages you've got going on. Just act normal.

4) WEAR THE RIGHT CLOTHES. You're at a fancy event with black ties and finger food. Fund raising for some supernatural cause or other? Better look smart.

5) FIND A FRIENDLY FACE. Go to one of the local supernatural haunts and sit down for a well-earned drink with a friend. You earned it.

6) BURN IT UP. (1st May) The fire festival of Beltane is a time of celebration for witches, marking the beginning of summer. Come along to the bonfire for music, food and drink, flower crowns and fertility rituals.

7) LOOK IN THE MIRROR. (1st May) Beltane is also a time when the barrier between the human world and the Other Realm is at its thinnest, making it easy to pass from one realm to the other by chance. You might even have an encounter with the mysterious and mischievous fae.

8) CHOOSE YOUR OWN ADVENTURE. Anything goes.

The Dodger looked at the girl. He gave a shrug.

"Ain't exactly meant to be here, myself," he said, tapping the side of his nose in a friendly manner. "But I reckon they're almost done makin' themselves all important an' kind. Bloody charity, they only do it to make people think their nice."

"Yeah?" She looked puzzled. "So what? You just like sneakin' in to stuffy events?"

She glanced back around the crowd, tittering society folk with plastic smiles. She can't help but agree with him. "Reputation's everythin' for people like that." She fiddled with the hem of her dress. "You don't sound like you like this sort very much."

"Like goin' places I ain't supposed to be," he clarifies, shrugging and grinning widely. The Dodger was, after all, a bit of an agent of chaos. If he was going to give himself airs and graces. He was a thief, a pickpocket, and damned good at what he did. He looked around, raising eyebrow.

"All stuck up toffs who don't know a good laugh if it were stark bollock naked in front of 'em."

"Sounds like you just like trouble." Not that she can say anything to that. She may have spent the past few years laying low but she can support a little trouble. She smiles back at him.

"Think I understood half that," she admits sheepishly. That was the problem of being an American in England. She couldn't understand the slang yet. "What I'm getting' is that they're high and mighty pricks. Someone ought to do something' about that. Show 'me what a good time is."

"People need a bit more trouble in their lives." It's said with a cheeky grin, one that seemed to cause light to flicker in his eyes, promising mischief, adventures, and fun. Never a dull day with this one, they would whisper.

"Well, you ain't findin' it at this particular party. But I might know of one..."

She laughs under her breath. "Sure they do. If it's the right kind."

That last bit catches the whole of her attention. Any excuse to get out of here and on to something more fun sounds like a solid plan to her. She tries to make her smile a little more sweet. "Are you willin' to tell which one and where? I'd rather be doin' just about anythin' than this."

The smirk on the Dodger's face is a promise that of course he's the right kind of trouble, why would he bother to be anything else? It's oddly friendly in how obvious it is, someone just being honest with who and what they are.

He shrugs, scratching his neck. "There's always one goin' on. Don't rightly know where yet, but I c'n find out in a few minutes."

Even if she'd been the only child, her pack had always skewed young-teenagers and barely adults. Trouble, sought with well meaning mischief, had always been part of the day to day. So that look is a little familiar to home, makes her smile warm out of reflex.

"I'd be pretty grateful if ya did," she says. "Ya know, if it's not messin' up your sneakin' around fancy parties plans."

"I reckon I c'n change me plans for one night."

"Lucky me." She gives him a toothy grin. "I'll find some way to make it up to ya."

The Dodger grinned, and glanced around them. "Right then," he stood and offered an arm in an exaggerated manner. "M'lady?"

She dropped into a shallow, wobbly curtsy and looped an arm through his. It took a moment to swallow the urge to laugh. "Why thank you, m'lord. How very kind."
