Simon arched an eloquent eyebrow at Matt's statement, but he was barely repressing a begrudging smile. His new flatmate had a bizarre way of convincing him to do things he didn't want to and then cheering him up regardless. "That sounds weird coming from an Americsn. You keep your slang and we'll keep ours, yeah?" He grabbed his own drink and moved over, giving Matt room on the bench next to him.

"I'll never understand your country," he laughed, pointedly ignoring the fact that he held dual citizenship and that the United States was his country as well. Sort of. He hadn't been back to visit since his grandparents died. "Over-eighteens drink anyway; might as well make it legal for them."
