His comment about the futility of waiting is ignored for now. If she could simply pass through, she would have. Only Jor-El can bring her to back to Faery, and he will do so at his whim. What else is there but to be ready and waiting for him?

As for not being a thing… She stares at him hard, trying to decide if that was meant to be a compliment or another challenge to her identity. Thanks to all of the harassment she’s endured from the “helpful” people at the Redbright Institute, she couldn’t be sure.

“Fairly certain? Is that so,” she says flatly. “And what about you? Are you a thing?”

Kara can sense the iron on him. Even at this distance, it’s an irritant and a threat to her strength. How he can stand to keep it so close?
