"Nancy," Eponine repeats. She can't help smiling as the other woman does. Eponine doesn't quite understand why Nancy is so friendly towards her, but she can at least understand how it is possible for Nancy to swing from such extreme fear that has her begging for her life to actively helping Eponine to feed. It would make so little sense to perhaps anyone but Eponine.
"The East End." She realises that she's parroting Nancy, and laughs. "It is the underworld, no? I have read of it. It is as where I grew up in Paris. P'raps we are not so different?" Apart from the fact that she grew up nearly two hundred years ago.
