"Bill wasn't a vampire-" she says, trying to explain herself. "He was a werewolf. I've known him almost all my life- and... no one has described it quite like that before." She gives Eponine a hazy sort of half-smile, unsure if she was happy she now had a word to describe her relationship with Bill, or not.

"Bill used his hands. Fists. Hit me with a few things. He's never been one for a knife, all about strength. But he loves me." Present tense- she knew it was true, just as she still loved him. Just as she loved Cooper.

"Cooper'd never hit me." Hit others, grab her, sure. But he knew her past now. He'd never hit her. Though Nancy wasn't sure how much she believed him.
