Potential CR Planning

Are you thinking about joining the game? Then you've found the right place! This post is for all prospective players to discuss their characters' AU backgrounds with canonmates and other characters, and to establish pre-existing CR (character relations). The aim is to help you figure out what to write in the background section of your application and to give you a starting point for building CR when you join the game.

You can use this post to:

• Share your ideas on how you'd like to adapt your character's background to the game.
• Ask questions and request feedback on your AU plans.
• Discuss potential shared history with canonmates and build in cross-canon CR.

Please note that nothing discussed here is guaranteed, since not all prospective players will submit an app or be accepted into the game, while others will app without having commented to this post. After the next round of applications have been processed, there will be a follow-up CR planning post for accepted players to confirm initial plans, make changes, and look for new CR.

This post is intended to be an open discussion between current and prospective players, but I'm happy to answer any mod questions you might have too. Happy planning!

Hi everyone! I'm Violet, a totally new prospective player, and I'm considering bringing in my original character Maera here. She's an Unseelie fairy, daughter to the Unseelie Court Seer and one of her human consorts. Being the daughter of a seer meaning that Maera's kind of able to see into the future. 'Kind of' meaning that her visions are vague, confusing, and irritatingly short-term. For now, she doesn't tell people about her powers - thanks, paranoid mum - and instead, she just acts as a messenger/runner for the Court. Need sensitive material of any kind to be transported from one location to another? She's your fae.

Since Maera's 'born of both worlds', in a way, she's familiar with both the Other Realm and with London, and crosses the border often. She's super curious about other species, and very friendly in general. She'll be going on the test-meme when it goes up, but I just wanted to introduce her here and see if there's any CR we can hash out! :D

Hi there, I'm Tetra and we don't know each other but I do know Melly :).

I play Heiji, a Seelie fae who's also pretty friendly and familiar with London, so I'm sure they can meet up sometime or come up with CR even. He and Balem are leading a territory push in July, so... idk, messengers are super useful for getting those organized? They could talk about their observations on humans too :V

And definitely to both of those things - they can totally have met up at some point (because Maera thinks the Seelie Court fae are just adorable), and Maera would certainly help with the tiny, nitpicky logistics that go with a territory push. And she'd just love having someone to talk to about how weird and wonderful humans are!!

So, I would love for Mab to know Violet, also being Unseelie and now involved heavily in court. She does not have a full retinue it would be nice to have someone to deliver messages for her when necessary. And Mab would be interested in the child of any seer. And in the seer parent as well. I don't imagine Mab is all that comfortable to speak with for someone really friendly but she might be someone that Mab has shown an interest in taking under wing. I imagine her mother has warned her off of Mab.

Maera would certainly be willing to help out a lady in her Court! However, almost nobody knows that she can actually see the future. Her mother's had her keep it a secret because she's worried that if people know about Maera's ability, they'll want to take advantage of her. Which... is fair.

But Maera will totally be Mab's messenger whenever she needs it!

Oh I didn't mean she'd know Maera was a seer, only that she was the daughter of one. Unless the mother keeps it secret as well. :)

Ah, got it!! Sorry, I misread things very often ^^' But yeah, her mother is publicly known as the Court Seer and she's there for anyone who wants to know what might lie in their future! So that might be reason for Mab to have known of Maera in the first place.

A perfect reason! I don't suspect Mab would use a Seer regularly but perhaps on occasion it would be useful, ie: before territory claims and such. But a messenger is always useful and I won't have to resort to pixies then.

Hey! So Eames here is an Unseelie who spends a lot of his time in London and does a lot of gathering information and whatnot, so I feel like Maera is totally the kind of person he'd know and probably get along decently with.

Oh, definitely. Maera is chatty and she loves her Court. Think mascot levels of pride in the Unseelies, pretty much just because that's where she was born. So she'll be extra chatty and friendly with anyone from her Court. :D
