Potential CR Planning

Hello! This post is for all prospective players to discuss their characters' AU backgrounds with canonmates and other characters, and to establish pre-existing CR (character relations). The aim is to help you figure out what to write in the background section of your application and to give you a starting point for building CR when you join the game.

You can use this post to:

• Share your ideas on how you'd like to adapt your character's background to the game.
• Ask questions and request feedback on your AU plans.
• Discuss potential shared history with canonmates and build in cross-canon CR.

Please note that nothing discussed here is guaranteed, since not all prospective players will submit an app or be accepted into the game, while others will app without having commented to this post. After the first application round, there will be a follow-up CR planning post for accepted players to confirm initial plans, make changes, and look for new CR.

This post is intended to be an open discussion between prospective players, but I'm happy to answer any mod questions you might have too. Happy planning!

so I also have way too many choices in mind and would def like some help a: narrowing them down and b: bouncing ideas off for potential cr purposes.

• the world's grumpiest ghost, a 150 year old hedonist who's pretty miffed that he can't do things like drink any more, what gives you guys, so he just like, possesses people when they're drunk and serves as everybody's favorite sholder devil. hangs around with the vampires at Islington Court all the time because a: they have good clothes and b: they can at least talk to him. he haunts an apartment complex and is just generally very bitter. very much is afraid of actually dying and has probably rejected his Door like twice already.


• a human doctor! because sometimes metahumans need to get checked out for allergies as well. he also is very much a mad scientist and is very much on Team Science and has mixed opinions about some of these things, we can totally cure vampirism, right? he keeps to himself and is a bit of a shut-in with no social life. gay married to science but is seeing bad decisions on the side. will need patients as well as eventually some people to draw him out of his shell. has the potential for really amoral experiments in the name of science and figuring out just how the supernatural works!


• grumpy teenage Circle Midnight witch who accidentally ruined her life with her witch powers (her parents are deeeead) and now pretty much spouts some pseudo darwinian bullshit and has a want, take, have attitude on things. buuuuut all this is hiding that she's really caring and just wants some friends. voted most likely to steal all your shit. will need witch friends, influences (either good or bad) and people whose pantries she can raid.

They all sound like they'd be so much fun to bounce off - though, for CR purposes with this girl (if she gets in), I could see the witch girl working in a terrible influence way. IDK. The grumpy ghost sounds like he'd have some brilliant posts though. I'm a sucker for grouchy people though.

yeah, I was initially iffy about the teen witch because she's early teenage years while everybody else seems to be late teens/early 20s so it's nice to know that if I do app her, she'd at least have one person to be a terrible influence towards. but yeah, I'm a big sucker for grouchy people as well.

and honestly, I'm torn between those two right now (ghost vs witch) and...will probably end up flipping a coin to decide which is which, whoops.
