Potential CR Planning

Hello! This post is for all prospective players to discuss their characters' AU backgrounds with canonmates and other characters, and to establish pre-existing CR (character relations). The aim is to help you figure out what to write in the background section of your application and to give you a starting point for building CR when you join the game.

You can use this post to:

• Share your ideas on how you'd like to adapt your character's background to the game.
• Ask questions and request feedback on your AU plans.
• Discuss potential shared history with canonmates and build in cross-canon CR.

Please note that nothing discussed here is guaranteed, since not all prospective players will submit an app or be accepted into the game, while others will app without having commented to this post. After the first application round, there will be a follow-up CR planning post for accepted players to confirm initial plans, make changes, and look for new CR.

This post is intended to be an open discussion between prospective players, but I'm happy to answer any mod questions you might have too. Happy planning!

Hey! Gosh I'm so excited for this game but I have some questions! 1) Would it be possible for a meta human to have a fae child, assuming their meta comes from fae blood? Can the power grow with generations? Or would it be necessary for the child to be kidnapped and come back a changeling?

Secondly, on the apps, I'm a little confused by what you mean when you say role. So for instance, this guy here is a CEO of a big company, and I'd like to throw the company into the mix here. Would that be something to write down in role? Or is it limited only to the factions and such?

Sylvia Redbright | Witch (NPC)

Anyone who might share some background history with Sylvia? She's an NPC and the leader of multiple factions (Redbright Institute, Night Council, Circle Daybreak/Midnight) so it's likely that resident characters will have heard of her. If you're playing an immortal type or an older character who has lived in London for many years, they could be aware of or involved in some of her history.

I'd also be open to player characters as family members, if appropriate:

- Two children, aged between 32-35. They also have spouses.
- Grandchildren aged up to 13.
- Possibly others e.g. cousins.

I'm open to suggestions, so let me know if you have any ideas!

Zelos Wilder | Tales of Symphonia

RACE: Fae | Seelie
AGE: 340
PERSONALITY: Zelos acts flirty, flighty and talks irresponsibly. But he's incredibly devoted to his duties, friends and debts he feels he owes. Comes off very shallow as a cover for his intelligence and the fact he's always watching and observing those around him. Gets embarrassed when showing his true feelings and plays them off as jokes to keep them hidden. Relies excessively on misdirection and omission to get around being unable to tell lies. Essentially-- gregarious tsundere.

BACKGROUND: Not uber set on anything, but general gist is he's the son of two Seelie. Father had a tendency to dally with non-fae, loving, having families with them, leaving when he got bored. Zelos, usually introduced to his half-brothers and sisters by his father, ended up supporting them after his father lost interest more often than not. This fostered a pretty deep hatred in Zelos for his careless father and the fae system that wouldn't allow half-fae into the courts. Things Got Real when one of his father's lovers, a witch, killed his mother in retaliation. Some years after that Zelos's father abruptly "disappeared" and Zelos took his place in Seelie court. Still keeps in contact with all his half family from his father, the ones who are willing to have anything to do with him anyway.

LOOKING FOR:
>Ex-girlfriends. Zelos is a player. Totally does not have what it takes to be in a committed relationship. Messy CR with exs can be hilarious and a fun train wreck.

>Witches. Has an irrational hate of them over what happened with his mother so any witches who want to to be acquainted with a snarky fae who is willing to hit on them and insult them in the same sentence would be ace. Can be complete bitchfest I hate that guy CR, had to work together a few times but can't stand one another, he's just an amusing asshole your witch likes to prod, etc. Open to tons of gradations! Only line he wouldn't cross is physically hurting anyone unprovoked/for no reason. Things like leaving them for dead in a bad situation when he could have helped are completely up his alley though.

>Half-family. Regardless of how they get on personally Zelos will be incredibly devoted to any half-family. Whether it's a half-sibling, the children of such a sibling or a great niece or nephew six generations down the line from him it doesn't matter. He'll still be a player in their corner if they need him. Cute, messy or downright vitriolic relationships definitely welcome.

>Murder accomplice. When Zelos's father "disappeared" that's because Zelos killed him. Someone who helped him or helped him get rid of the body to hide the truth could be fun. Wouldn't want more than one person for this though.

>Other things??? Pretty open to whatever hit me up!

Narsus | Heroic Legend of Arslan

Well, I've got half an app over here, but here's the basic gist of it:

• Outcast Seelie fae.
  
• Currently allied with Hillingdon as an advisor.
  
• Formerly a military/political strategist with the Seelie Court, but his big mouth got him into trouble.
  
• Obsessed with art. He doesn't let his total lack of talent hold him back.
  
• Considers himself a defender of human rights, even though he's kind of ignorant when it comes to human life.
  
• He's from whatever the fae equivalent of Iran is. Yeah, despite the blond hair.
  
• His magic took a serious hit when he got kicked out of the Other Realm.
  
• Flighty, overdramatic, eccentric... but smarter than he looks. Not half bad with a sword, either.

Looking for...

• Hillingdon members/allies. He'll get along well with other dissidents.
  
• Other fae. He flounced on the Seelie Court and got himself banished, so he'll be pretty well known among his kind. Most of them think he's an idiot.
  
• People to mentor. He has all kinds of ideas about what makes a good leader, and he'd jump at the opportunity to groom someone for greatness. He loooooves being asked for advice. He'll give you advice whether you want it or not.
  
• Vampires. Probably the biggest hazard to a magically weakened fae.
  
• People from foreign countries. He loves learning about the world, and he also feels like a bit of a cultural outsider.

Stiles Stilinski | Teen Wolf

PERSONALITY: Clumsy, excitable, and awkward teenager with a wicked dry sense of humor. Tends to put foot in mouth often, which is unsurprising given the fact his mouth is usually running a mile a minute at any given point. Has a good heart and ultimately wants to protect his friends/loved ones, but is also willing to adjust his moral compass when necessary; he definitely leans towards a chaotic neutral/gray morality, unlike his heroic best bro. He’s drawn irresistibly to mysteries and the unknown. Expect him to be poking around everywhere he shouldn’t be. Despite his general friendliness, he’s slow to trust and has a very suspicious nature.

BACKGROUND: Stiles grew up in Beacon Hills, California. He’s been utterly unaware that supernatural creatures exist until relatively recently—when his best friend was bitten by a werewolf on the night of a full moon. The next chunk of his history is dependent on the decisions of a Scott McCall player, so if anyone would be interested in apping Scott, please hit me up! I’d love to plan out the details. For now, here’s what I’m thinking…

> Scott triggered the curse: Stiles has spent every full moon since that fateful night helping his buddy through the werewolf transformation. This probably involved chaining him up, breaking more than a few laws, etc. Additionally, they’ve come to realize that there are other supernaturals in Beacon County and have been helping out as they can.

> Scott didn’t trigger the curse: Stiles discovered the truth about what happened said fateful night through obsessively and extensively researching. This acts as the boys’ introduction to the paranormal world, and they soon get sucked into helping out the resident supernaturals in Beacon County to the best of their abilities.

Stiles’ father becomes increasingly concerned about his son, who is constantly coming home injured, is skipping school, is somehow involved in crimes around the town, and is blatantly lying to him. So he decides to send Stiles overseas to spend the summer with his mother’s side of the family in London. (If anyone wants to app Scott, maybe it was a joint-plan by Melissa and Stilinski!)

PLANS: Stiles has only just arrived in the UK. While he’s originally meant to just spend the next few months here, he’ll eventually decide to stay for an extended period (thank god that his Polish dual-citizenship grants him EU citizenship). Once he realizes that London is basically the supernatural epicenter of activity, he’ll be sticking his nose in EVERYTHING. In fact, he’ll likely march himself down to the Night Council HQ and try to barter, bribe, and sweet-talk his way into admittance at Redbright Institute…despite being 100% human! If/when he is turned down, Stiles will turn his sights to East End Pack, since he’s more familiar with werewolves than anything else.

In the long run, Stiles will definitely get involved in the political intricacies of the Underground.

LOOKING FOR:

Aziraphale is a fae in hiding so it would be rather great fun if eventually he had to watch his back for Handsome Jack. It'll probably be a long term much later down the line thing but I could see Jack outing Outcast fae to put them in danger.

Dandy Mott | American Horror Story

The basics:

• Spoiled vampire brat born around the year 1800 to a wealthy family in America.


• Very rich and elitist, tends to act childish despite his age because he's been so sheltered and never disciplined or told 'no'. A huge sadist on top of that, loved emotionally manipulating others as well.


• HUGE enthusiast of all things Hollywood, wants to be an actor despite the obvious difficulties that would pose. Especially fond of the golden age of Hollywood. Buys film reels of his favorite movies.


• Had to flee to Europe in the mid 1950s after going on a murderous rampage in the small town where he had lived quietly with his mother for decades, and thus currently resides in London.


• Basically sees most people as playthings, but will be nicer to you if you can act/sing/dance or have two heads or something interesting like that.


• Likes to straight up bathe in blood because decadence and excess and all that.


• Fairly ambitious and cunning, despite being childish.


• Essentially idle rich, as the Mott family business is still going strong.


• Aligned with the Islington Nest.

ABOVE GROUND PROFESSION: Trust fund baby; philanthropist

PERSONALITY: Aggressive optimist. Serious Blue Lantern candidate. Hope, love, and understanding above all! Also flighty, somewhat air-headed, rambling, whimsical, and prone to overstepping boundaries and presumptuousness. Can be unbearably pushy and earnest. Openly childish in many ways. Just wants everyone to get along and be happy! Adopts stray cynics. Surprisingly difficult to break.

PLANS: I'm thinking of having her come in relatively unaware, possibly dragged in accidentally through some CR? Whether human or metahuman, she will be very new to the underground, and if she is metahuman it'll probably take a while for her to realize since it's such a passive ability. If she is metahuman, I can imagine her drifting over to the fluffy, friendly Redbright Institute. Peace and love is her jam.

Okay! Iiiii cannot be the only one having trouble in deciding who to AU into this excellent concept. So I've got a quick rundown of my final contenders from actual canons, along with basic cr hooks. But if any of them sound like they'd slot into backstories for people you're apping, speak up and let's plot! ♥

ancient sadist child-immortal who enjoys politics, dresses like a gothic lolita and wants the Islington Nest to take all of London, really.
needed: vampires sired, other rivals, people to bruise and bully.

flaky outcast fae who enjoys suiting up and will teach you how to live. Probably whether you want to or not. Available for all your weird backstory fill-ins, because god knows fae are whimsical as hell.

angry teenage werewolf who speaks three languages and hates everyone outside the East End Pack, and probably a few people in it. In his spare time he builds explosives.
needed: probably competent people to cope with his godawful temper, and an alpha to embarrass horribly with his blinding effusive loyalty.

casual Seelie knight who enjoys carousing, fighting and admiring your ass. It'd be hard to remember he's fae if he didn't look so much like one. And if he didn't report to them on demand.
needed: a long-standing boss to report to. . .

cranky monster-hunting human, probably only a few years into his London stay, who just wants all the supernatural forces to back off. Specialises in callous mentoring and kicking recalcitrant pupils in the face. Tenuous working relationship with the Hillingdon Clan, since he doesn't. . . much like shapeshifters either.
needed: people he's mistakenly tried to kill, witches who don't hate him (he relies heavily on witches to keep him alive), pupils to whomp into shape.

Gokudera as a pissy werewolf with explosives would be AMAZING. I couldn't offer Stiles as anyone competent to deal with him, but they'd butt heads gloriously. BUT the first option for the child-immortal vamp sounds pretty awesome too... I CAN SEE WHY YOU'RE HAVING TROUBLE PICKING, too many options...

DEREK HALE | Teen Wolf

personality ▸ Acerbic and abrasive, Derek is difficult to get along with and that seems to suit him just fine. He's got a short fuse and doesn't tend to suffer fools, or, for that matter, anyone else. Generally, he keeps himself to himself and treats everyone with a default level of contempt and suspicion, making it quite clear he'd rather be alone, and violence seems to come easily to him. He is, however, fiercely protective, even when there's little clear reason for it. Overall, a lot more malleable than first impressions make him appear and fairly quick to become invested in the lives of those around him.

background ▸ Derek was born to a werewolf family of some prestige in California, and as werewolves go his life was fairly idyllic, with him being taught control and responsibility from youth. During his mid-teens, one of the most important people in his life was his human girlfriend, Paige. Rising friction between the wolfpacks and hunters lead Derek to think the best way to protect her and their relationship was to have her given the bite, a feeling which was wholly encouraged and moulded by his manipulative uncle. The bite didn't take, and, after being begged by Paige, Derek was forced to end her suffering, activating his curse at fifteen.

It marked a turning point in his life. Young and impressionable, he fell prey to the charm of one of the hunters, who would coax details about his family life and routine from him. She promptly used this to burn down his family home with eleven people inside, killing all but three members - Derek's older sister, Laura, who would become his alpha, his uncle Peter, who was left in a coma, and Derek himself. Restless, they moved around for a while before eventually, becoming more aware of London's supernatural scene, decided to travel to England and stay there. Under Laura's guidance they would become part of the East End Pack. Derek was absolutely content to follow her lead, still seeing her as his alpha even when she gave up the position for the sake of having a pack again.

That was, until recently, when Laura's mangled corpse was found in one of London's parks.

first impressions ▸ Big brooding bad wolf in a fancy car and a leather jacket. Perpetual state of exasperation. Tendency to show up places just to loom, uninvited and unwanted. Resting bitchface.

plans/looking for ▸ Derek will start off with the East End Pack, but over time and hopefully via positive CR I'd like for him to (mirroring the show to a degree) become less aggressive and ferociously introverted. At least to begin with he'll be fairly suspicious of non-werewolves and will be uneasily neutral around them at best, at least in most cases.

• Pack! Derek is a relatively new member of the Eastenders and was largely following his sister's lead and shadowing her, but I'd other werewolves who might get him more involved and spur his familial side.
  
• Positives! Derek is prickly and fairly evasive but to a degree fairly weak to people being kind to him. At this stage the best there might be from him is 1) you get a guard dog and 2) snarking, but I'd love for him to have relationships that can develop over time and have a good influence on him! It'll just probably take some level of perseverance, desperation, or stupidity.
  
• Negatives! Playing nice is difficult for Derek and enemies, rivals, or just people who think he's an asshole would all be splendid. He'll most likely be threatening but I'm absolutely down for working around violence or open hostility if preferred!
  
• Derek's main goal is, to begin with, finding his sister's murderer and keeping out of any larger scale problems as he tries to maintain an air of not giving a damn. People involved in either, whether law enforcement, stringing him along, or trying to get him involved in things are all absolutely welcome. His life has been shaped by manipulation and it seems like a shame to abandon that now.

Aziraphale | Good Omens

Hello I am Kat, I play Aziraphale, an angel from the novel Good Omens! I think I'm done tweaking my current app for the time being (which you can find right here) but it is obviously subject to change because I keep adding or changing minor details. Here are the very basically important things that are more rock solid, though:

Race: Outcast Fae, previously a Seelie Fae - more specifically, he is an apple tree nymph! He was born from an apple tree in St. James's Park many hundreds of years ago (he's lost count).

Background: Aziraphale got into a bit of trouble with trying to 'game' fae politics with an Unseelie fae friend of his, and was cast out from the Other Realm when he was caught. He's been an outcast for thirty years now, and has been with Redbright Institute for thirteen of those years. Aziraphale is currently posing as a metahuman instructor named Francis Fell. He teaches an entry level course for people of all ages about adjusting to life within London's supernatural community. He has some loose ties with the Outreach Program and, because of his incredible singing voice, is asked to help lead choir practice from time to time.

Personality: Aziraphale wants to avoid getting caught up in fae politics again at all costs, and comes off as a rather timid and closed off person as he is trying to hide his identity. He's still a rather kind person who is pleasant to be around, but fails to make any deep connections to others, as there's an impenetrable wall that he puts up after a certain point of getting to know someone. He's also a rather socially awkward person to talk to for a prolonged period of time; fascinated by humans and metahumans, Aziraphale intensely studies what they say and their reactions to certain things, and will sometimes make comments about these things that make him seem odd or even clueless. He has trouble gauging emotions from time to time, and can appear ignorant or insensitive about certain human concepts.

Pre-CR I can offer/would like: Other fae may know who he is, either by virtue of having been involved with him when he was still living in the Other Realm or because they heard about him being cast out (by fae standards, it was a rather recent happenstance, and also quite hilarious). Students may either currently have him as a teacher or have had him as one in the past, and instructors may obviously have him as a coworker. They may also know him from his occasional involvement in the music department. Aziraphale is also acquainted with many of the Outreach Program members, as he is a firm supporter of the group and often offers suggestions on how to improve the program.

Right now I have the role of Aziraphale's Unseelie fae friend set aside, indefinitely, for any potential future Crowley players! (Crowley is Aziraphale's canon demon friend.) Everything else, though, is free game!

Arthur Kirkland | Hetalia (Seelie Fae)

Basics:

I don't have as much set in concrete as I'd like at the moment, but here's some stuff

He's a seelie fae with less contempt for humans, and more curiosity, and wonder. He loves what humans have built in London, despite himself, and is sort of enamoured with the English people. Deathly proud of fae kind though, and he hates witches. He's a knight, guarding the palace and serving the king. When he's not serving royalty he's manipulating humans in London - simple stuff, from changing the words of graffiti to throwing dropped litter at people.

He's looked after younger fae over the centuries, trying to keep those that are growing wary of things on the right (seelie fae) path.

Looking for:
• Any potential hetalia appers, I'd love to work in some background stuff!
• Underlings Arthur could've taken under his wing and guided, and been a terrible guardian to. (Mainly fae, both seelie and unseelie - but I'm sure we could make it work for others).
• Fae outcasts that he was formerly friends with? He's sympathetic, despite himself, but would still blame them for betraying fae kind.
• Witches he could butt heads with. Yeah, he doesn't like witches.
• Doesn't like the French either (visited for awhile, hated it) so anyone French might get some venom too.
• I'm open for anything! He's been around a long time so could know a lot of others that have been around a while.

Clive Dove | Professor Layton

AGE: 23
BACKGROUND:

• London native
  
• Spent most of his childhood living in an apartment in the city with his parents
  
• At age 13, his apartment building was set on fire (by a witch or fae maybe???) while he was in school which killed ten people including his parents
  
• Was soon adopted by an incredibly rich, single, elderly woman named Constance Dove and lived with her in her Barnet mansion along with her two servants, Spring and Cogg
  
• Constance died of an illness when Clive was 18, leading him to inherit the mansion along with her fortune
  
• After graduating secondary school, Clive took a job as a part-time journalist so he could use their resources to investigate the cause of the fire that killed his parents, but because it was caused by supernatural forces he was unable to find any information at all, initially fueling a deep distrust for the government
  
• Is now aware of the supernatural world (details on how he discovered it have yet to be determined) and the possibility that whoever killed his parents may not have been human
  
• Quit his job as a journalist to join the outreach group at Redbright Institute, mostly to help protect fellow humans and use his connections there to continue to investigate his parents' deaths from a supernatural angle
  
• Terminated Spring and Cogg's employment and now lives alone, but still sees them semi-regularly

PERSONALITY:
On the surface, Clive is a gentle, friendly guy who generally gets along with people easily and can also be a little flirty, especially towards women. Despite this, he doesn't get too close to people very often even among his own species, but those who do manage to get close to him will find that Clive is an extremely loyal friend who will do just about anything to protect them. On the other hand, he's also a very dedicated enemy - deep down he has an incredibly malicious, vengeful side that wants to make anyone who has ever wronged him or his loved ones suffer as much as possible, and will use underhanded tactics to do so.

Although he works for the Redbright Institute, which promotes acceptance of all species, Clive is actually very distrustful of most supernatural beings, especially vampires, werewolves, and faes (doubly so for Unseelie faes). Nicest old lady ghost ever. She's more or less pretty kind and sweet to everyone she meets because that's her default for everything: Be kind to everyone. Especially since she has no one to talk to easily and doesn't want to scare anyone off.

Very composed and it takes a lot to get a rise out of her because she had two rowdy boys and a hot-tempered husband she knows how to deal with them. Clever in her own way because while she doesn't have a lot of knowledge about the more complicated math and sciences -- she only ever finished her multiplications tables that's it -- she's sensible and practical. Cautious since her youth and her passing hasn't changed anything about that. Pretty uneasy to jump headfirst into things unless it somehow involves people she cares of because if they're involved she's all hands on deck. Extremely loyal to those who really earn her trust and not just her affection.

BACKGROUND:

Her background is fairly simple. Was born to the Philippines with little to no formal education and got married at a young age to a man her parents disapproved of heavily. She moved to London upon their deaths so she could have a new life. Happily lived in London -- had the whole shebang of a perfectly normal life complete with two sons, loving husbands, a great daughter-in-law, and had a cute baby granddaughter -- and died from a bad illness after a long and fulfilling life.

Then she was unable to move on and witnessed everything going to hell after that. Her older son and her daughter-in-law/his wife died, her younger son disappeared out of grief, and she was unable to do anything about the bitter relationship her husband and her granddaughter had when he was raising her by himself. That's rough, buddy.

It was later revealed her granddaughter is a metahuman with faint precognition and now she studies at Redbright Institute, living there instead with her grandfather. Not that she can now anyways since he passed away some time ago. Now spends Clara days solVING CRIMES I MEan spends most of her days at the coffee shop that used to be the apartment complex until it was bought and sold by a company. Sometimes she'llw wander away from her haunting place to explore, trying to look after lost children if she comes across them until their parents/police show up.

That counts as solving crimes right.

PLANS:

I would love it if her attempts to look after the children had her get caught up in some sort of magical trouble and she's dragged into it all by complete accident. Like she interferes with a fae kidnapping or prevents vampires from snatching up children. Or she protects students from Redbright against danger and something notices her.

Also if she can actually solve crimes with someone or help someone solve crimes/mysteries that'll be great.

POSSIBLE CONNECTIONS:

People who would go to the coffee shop she's now haunting! Having a ghost nudge your drink closer to you so it doesn't fall off the table?

Redbright Institute individuals! Her granddaughter resides there and is being taken care of so she has a soft spot for them as a whole. Goes out of her way to look after them if she comes across them/recognises them/sees them with her daughter outside school grounds. She has your back be it student or teacher.

Age: unknown in canon, I'll say 30

Personality: Apolitical, pragmatic, curious to a fault, and laid back to the point of being pleasantly soporific company. Childhood traumas are a part of the gracefully accepted past, not a driving force: he is a tradesman and a master in the truest sense, with his greatest enthusiasm and focus reserved for his work. In this world, that is witchcraft. He is in love with all living things, but prioritizes human life when no compromise (and truly no compromise-- he isn't a politician looking ten steps ahead) can be reached.

AU Background
All of this is obviously pending app approval, but Ginko would be a fairly powerful witch with a nasty fae-inflicted curse. In canon, Ginko's trade (cliff notes: traveling paranormal doctor) is the fulcrum on which all of the stories turn, the center of his life and motivations. Witchcraft is a tantalizing translation of the mushi-master's trade, involving the same degree of danger, secrecy, attention to nature, and devotion to craft.

Ginko's prior occupation in this AU would be exorcism of ghosts and selling potions, with odd jobs and ... gentle cons to make ends meet. To shake things up a bit, since this AU of London will doubtless be facing a mass immigration from another small island: he's a UK ex-pat who's been studying in his presumed homeland (he's keeping his canonical amnesia, which also means that he doesn't know his own true name-- weakness or asset?) for a decade or so, returning to London upon the offer of a position teaching botany fundamentals at Redbright.

CR Plans:

- I'd love to work out some mutual headcanons on the witch culture in Japan with other witch-muns, for starters!

- In canon, Ginko is an anomaly among mushi-masters for his "affinity" and reluctance to exterminate or exploit mushi-- AU'd this will translate to a respect for werewolves and shapeshifters, and a decidedly grey outlook on whether the fae can or should be blamed for acting in accordance with their own nature. I'd love to play out both friendship and conflict arising from this oddity.

- Ginko has a fascination and ability to sympathize with (and alternatively, the ability and willingness to destroy) beings with orange and blue morality, so he might make an interesting bargaining chip, cog in a ploy, enemy or ally to the fae. There's also the issue of his curse (still being hashed out, but it is an exploitable limitation, not an asset or special ability).

- I'd love to build CR with other instructors at Redbright; in my app I mention that he was corresponding with someone at Redbright to solve a magical problem, and this correspondence led to his moving to London. I'd be happy to handwave or establish that with another player! Students would be awesome, too.

So my basic outline for Sabriel's AU backstory is this. Sabriel was raised in northern England by her father and his coven. She's a powerful but inexperienced witch whose strength lies in dealing with ghosts and counteracting Dark magic... and who arrived in London recently to try to learn where her father's vanished to. (Her father being a powerful witch who had a reputation for fighting off those who used dark magic and was a talented medium. He would have had a lot of friends/acquaintances/enemies if people want to say they know Sabriel through her dad.

She's generally stoic and serious but actually kind of playful underneath that, and generally respectful when dealing with other supernaturals, though she's somewhat pitying of werewolves, wary of vampires, and VERY wary of the fae.

Actually there is roughly a gazillion percent chance that I am apping Martha, BUT I have other choices for potential future apps!

- Martha here is a doctor who is also a witch (maybe, I'm waffling) who focuses on healing and who met a ~mysterious~ outcast fae who she hung out with for awhile (HOW/WHY I DON'T KNOW background ugh). This made her realise that she wants to help everyone, regardless of race or affiliation; since receiving her medical degree, she's been studying every form of magical healing she can find for the different races. (Whether or not she's actually successful/capable of doing so is a different story. It probably involves a lot of potions and things and less actual magic.) She's a member of Circle Daybreak and probably loosely affiliated with the Redbright Institute, because yay fluffy friendly acceptance for all.

(Edit: ...or maybe she works at the Redbright Institute? Do they need doctors? I DON'T KNOW.)

Potential future apps:
- A metahuman who does her best to keep her powers hidden; her powers revert vampires and werewolves to mortal status as long as she's touching them and can bind ghosts (this might get taken out). I'm not even sure this would be allowed, tbh. Although she doesn't know it, her father was the result of a metahuman breeding program by some religious fanatics in Italy. Modern AU of a woman from Victorian England.
- A witch whose background I have yet to figure out how to adapt because she accidentally summoned a creature who almost destroyed London in canon whoops (also because her sort of magic is wholly different than the magic present in game).
- A metanatural who can control others' bodies when touching them. Probably a lifelong member of the Redbright Institute; she belongs to a super-secret government organisation in canon (one that takes children from their parents and educates them privately to use their powers for the good of Great Britain). Has another canon installment coming out at the end of June so WE'LL SEE THEN.

background: marco was born and raised in the hillingdon clan, where he excelled as a hunter for over a decade. a highly-skilled child mercenary and assassin, marco is personally responsible for the deaths of hundreds (?) of supernatural creatures (mainly vampires and werewolves). he'd garnered something of a name for himself (hillingdon whispers once named him "the destroyer") during that time. at around twelve years old, an incident revolving an attack on a town (though the details are still fuzzy) somehow caused a change of heart. he deflected from the clan and now swears his loyalty to the redbright institute.

personality: fairly mild-mannered and disarming. marco excels in giving people the impression that there isn't much going on for him, and he seems to prefer being in the background more than being in the spotlight. despite that, he is amiable and friendly, and more than willing to take on a role of leadership if he needs to. he is very mature, despite his "youth," and quietly but passionately supportive of those he believes in. though typically good-natured, he does have a cold streak to him when angered. shutting his emotions off is no strange venture for him, and he's just as easily able to slip back into "the destroyer" mode if he needs to. that said, he's a bit haunted by his past, which he struggles to simultaneously forget and accept every day.

- SOMEONE TO BODYGUARD/FUSS OVER? in canon, marco is second-in-command of a mafia family, and his boss is a young girl who'd taken over the family business after her father's death. he essentially watched the girl grow up, and is very close to her. so something of this nature would be divine, but truly just anyone whose ideals align with his (or what he wants his ideals to be, anyway) within the redbright institute that he can swear his loyalty to would be great.
