Potential CR Planning

Hello! This post is for all prospective players to discuss their characters' AU backgrounds with canonmates and other characters, and to establish pre-existing CR (character relations). The aim is to help you figure out what to write in the background section of your application and to give you a starting point for building CR when you join the game.

You can use this post to:

• Share your ideas on how you'd like to adapt your character's background to the game.
• Ask questions and request feedback on your AU plans.
• Discuss potential shared history with canonmates and build in cross-canon CR.

Please note that nothing discussed here is guaranteed, since not all prospective players will submit an app or be accepted into the game, while others will app without having commented to this post. After the first application round, there will be a follow-up CR planning post for accepted players to confirm initial plans, make changes, and look for new CR.

(still fleshing out the details, but this is what i have so far in an attempt to blend his canon backstory with the ~supernatural~)

background: marco was born and raised in the hillingdon clan, where he excelled as a hunter for over a decade. a highly-skilled child mercenary and assassin, marco is personally responsible for the deaths of hundreds (?) of supernatural creatures (mainly vampires and werewolves). he'd garnered something of a name for himself (hillingdon whispers once named him "the destroyer") during that time. at around twelve years old, an incident revolving an attack on a town (though the details are still fuzzy) somehow caused a change of heart. he deflected from the clan and now swears his loyalty to the redbright institute.

personality: fairly mild-mannered and disarming. marco excels in giving people the impression that there isn't much going on for him, and he seems to prefer being in the background more than being in the spotlight. despite that, he is amiable and friendly, and more than willing to take on a role of leadership if he needs to. he is very mature, despite his "youth," and quietly but passionately supportive of those he believes in. though typically good-natured, he does have a cold streak to him when angered. shutting his emotions off is no strange venture for him, and he's just as easily able to slip back into "the destroyer" mode if he needs to. that said, he's a bit haunted by his past, which he struggles to simultaneously forget and accept every day.

cr plans:
- SOMEONE TO BODYGUARD/FUSS OVER? in canon, marco is second-in-command of a mafia family, and his boss is a young girl who'd taken over the family business after her father's death. he essentially watched the girl grow up, and is very close to her. so something of this nature would be divine, but truly just anyone whose ideals align with his (or what he wants his ideals to be, anyway) within the redbright institute that he can swear his loyalty to would be great.
- hillingdon clan members who remember him from his past... grabby hands at tense and/or negative cr
- other meta-humans and humans in general that may or may not know of his past/current affiliations and just think he's a regular and frankly kinda boring guy
- also maybe the children or family members or those vampires/werewolves/etc that he killed 18 years ago for some lovely YOU KILLED MY FATHER, PREPARE TO DIE cr... 8))));;;;
- okay so in canon, the reason he has a change of heart is due to a girl... whose parents he killed...

if i can somehow recreate that here, that would be so great, wheeze. oh!! she would also be the one to have given him that scar on his face uwu scrappy little thing, tbh.

Sweet! I'm excited to see a Gangsta character! Jack here was just getting involved in Hillingdon at the time he left, looking for his lost daughter and wife and then later, just his wife. He then started climbing the ranks in Hillingdon, so it's quite possible for the two to have met? Though Jack isn't 100% sold on Hillingdon values, he's stuck around for a while and (assuming he gets in) is in business with Sylvia. So they could see each other around and have tense cr...... Though Jack will just be a dick........

oh man, someone familiar with the canon - hello!! and yes, i'm excited to transition marco here; originally i wanted to bring nic in, but auing him just wasn't working out.

as for marco and jack, jack could have definitely heard about him! if they'd met, marco would have been quite young, and he wouldn't have had his scar till right before he deflects... but marco would probably recognize jack, all the same. SO YES, i'd definitely love tense cr, especially if jack is still affiliated with the clan. 8) marco will be quite protective of the institute...

I understand that, I had a hard time trying to make the au work out for Jack. But I'm glad you figured out a way to make it work!!

He is still affiliated with the clan so I think we've gotten you that cr! Because Jack does not like Redbright, but business is business. And he's been with the clan for about 20 years or so, making seeing Marco with the scar an interesting thing. FUN FACT: Jack has a huge facial scar too. They can be scar buddies but without being buddies!!
