Test Drive Meme: February/March 2017
Welcome to the Underground test drive meme! This is where you can try out the AU version of your character, start some potential CR and get a feel for the world of the game. Choose your character's species, read up on the available factions and you're ready to go. Put your character's name in your subject line when you post, tag out, and have fun!
Note to current players: Activity in this meme counts as game canon! So you can use it for activity check. If you end up playing anything that you can't or don't want to use as game canon, it's fine to ignore it. (In that case you shouldn't submit it for activity check.)
Here are some prompts to inspire you:
1) SOMETHING NEW. Welcome to London! Spring is approaching but it's still bloody freezing, the wind is howling (are you sure it's the wind?) and your umbrella isn't much use when the rain is driving into you from the side. Maybe the appeal of a new experience is what brought you here. Does the reality match your expectations?
2) RUN THIS SHOW. You are the host of an event designed to showcase the particular skills and power of your people or faction. It can be small scale or ridiculously lavish, but this is your chance to enter the spotlight and show the supernatural community what you're made of.
3) CATCH ME IF YOU CAN. The police are after you. Maybe you did it, maybe you didn't, but they're on to you and now it's your job to make sure the case goes cold. Don't want to leave a supernatural paper trail.
4) WALK ON THE WILD SIDE. London's many parks are a haven for those who like some greenery in their concrete jungles. Popular and peaceful during the day, at night things are different. When the moon is full or the wind blows from a certain direction, the balance of magic can shift and open up ways into the far wilder woods of the Other Realm. Alternatively... you got really really drunk and passed out in a field.
5) BETTER WATCH YOUR BACK. Let's face it: you have a thousand reasons to be paranoid. Maybe the powers that be have it out for you. A werewolf or vampire wants to eat you. You pissed off a shapeshifter just last week. There's a hunter trying to kill you, a witch trying to control you, a fae that wants to kidnap you, a ghost haunting you. Hell, maybe they really are all out to get you. Are you in real trouble this time... or are you scared of your own shadow?
6) FOLLOW THE LEADER. Take your pick: your boss has ordered you to a) threaten an enemy; b) approach a potential ally who might side with you against a common foe; c) dispose of a dead body; d) deal with a spillage at table four. Good luck.
7) GO GO GO. There's nothing like a morning run. Maybe you're training for the London Marathon in April, maybe it's a good way of working out your hunting instincts, maybe you just like to keep in shape. Wait, did that guy deliberately overtake you? Don't get competitive now.
8) CHOOSE YOUR OWN ADVENTURE. Anything goes.

He watches her do... something to the wraps, his head canting to the side. Looks like some witchy nonsense to him, but before he can ask, she's preparing a different cloth and warning him that it'll hurt. He shrugs. ) Already hurts. It can't be too much worse. ( That being said, he pulls his good hand away, peeling his shirt completely away from his skin. He's all fine and dandy until about three seconds after the disinfectant soaks in to his wounds, and then holy shit his hand is on fire. Serious fire. Hellfire.
Ghoul nearly leaps right off the stool, yanking his arm back with a yelp.
Nope. NOPE. ) Oh my fuckin' god! ( Will blowing on it help? Maybe blowing on it will help. He's going to try it out of pure desperation. )

lillian wants to believe she's above such things but honestly this is going to hurt him more than anything else. last thing she wants is someone injured in her store.
giving him a look of annoyance, she keeps her firm grip on the cloth as she begins to dab it across the wound to make sure it got most, if not all, the possibly infected injury. because she refuses to believe that this was cleaned up and properly disinfected before his arrival here. ] Just wait for a few minutes. It'll be over with soon and then I can wipe away the blood and bandage this up.
Hang on, please.

Aside from a pretty intense grimace and a few twitches, he does settle back down. It's hard no to; she'd asked so nicely... And yes, it absolutely does need to be disinfected. The injury had actually come from broken glass near a dumpster, so there's no telling what sort of filth has already gotten in there. Even so, Ghoul's not really the disinfecting type. He's pretty sure that he can't die from infection...
So it's a good thing she's around, frankly. Still hurts like a motherfucker, though. Maybe he can keep his mind off it by talking. ) Um- what was it you did to that other stuff? ( He nods in the direction of the wraps. Hopefully those don't burn too. )

for that alone, lillian tries her best to make sure the cleaning of the wound and the blood isn't that uncomfortable. she was young compared to some of the others who reside here in london, but a hundred and plus years under her belt meant she picked up skills along the way. like tending to these sort of wounds, for instance.
at his question, she looks over at the bandages and wonders if she should tease him or stick with being honest. it looks like he's been through the wringer already so no need to needle the poor thing. ]
I just put a charm on it. When the cloth is applied to your skin, the magic will give you a boost of energy for the rest of the day so long as you wear it. [ with any luck, it'll help him heal faster and help rid him of the wound. ] My usual healing charm is meant for only cuts and scrapes so that was out of the question for this.

He doesn't clam up entirely, of course. She's not that lucky. ) You did? ( Magic is always an excellent way to distract Ghoul. His shoulders are tense and his voice is a touch strained, but he's at least letting her work and only twitching a little every now and then. ) Does it hurt you? Y'know, like... Do you have to give up some of your health or energy or whatever to put it in a charm?

she smiles and laughs, the sound light and breezy but not mocking as she continues her best to administer the treatment. ] It doesn't hurt me, I assure you. Drains me of my energy but it is something I am willing to do.
I want to help you after all. It would be wrong for me to say that I will help you and not give it my all. [ it wouldn't sit right with her if she'd done such a thing. if she gives her word to help you then she'll do her best to help you.
it's that simple, she thinks. ]

It might not harm her to help this time, but... ) That's still kinda goin' an extra mile. You don't owe me nothin'. Much less, like, magic bandages. So, y'know. I definitely appreciate that. ( He's trying not to crack a smile, and is failing miserably. She's nice. Even if she does use the worst disinfectant on the planet. Still, he's decided he likes her. )

but this is the longest conversation she's ever had with someone who wasn't a fae. it was a pleasant chat too with how he's doing his best. she would hate to lose this because she demanded something. (she can almost hear her parents' comments of her too soft heart but she's here in london for a reason.) ] -Just assure me you'll do your best to not stain my floors with your blood. We can call it even after that.
It's not that much to do these sort of blessings anyways. It only gets overwhelming when I need to do it so many times. [ she looks up at him and winks. ] Why do you think my shop is still around? I always make sure to give my outfits a little 'oomph' to them.

( And if he does happen to bleed anywhere that was not agreed upon, he could probably fix it. He's pretty good at getting blood out of fabrics and flooring by now. It's one of his many secret talents. ) I just, uh... I just always thought this was a regular store. ( He also never looked too hard, because he doesn't pay attention to fashion or fashionable places. ) How long you been doin' it for?
